Samsung Galaxy Round Launches Is South Korea This Week For $1,000

Last week Samsung announced their first smartphone with a flexible display, the Samsung Galaxy Round, the handset will launch in South Korea this week and will retail for the equivalent of $1,000.
The Samsung Galaxy Round retail price for South Korea is 1,089,000 won, which works out at around $1,000 using the current exchange rate, the handset is expensive compared to other Samsung handsets, although it is their first device to come with a curved display.

The Samsung Galaxy Round share’s a number of specifications from the Galaxy Note 3, the display on the Galaxy Round measures 5.7 inches, although it is curved horizontally from right to left.
The 5.7 inch display has a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the handset is powered by a quad core processor with a clock speed of 2.3GHz, it is also equipped with 3GB of RAM.

Other specifications on the device include 32GB of built in storage, it comes with front and rear facing cameras, the rear camera is  13 megapixel version, and the front facing camera is 2 megapixels.
The Galaxy Round features Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, as yet Samsung has no plans to launch the handset outside of South Korea, of course this could change in the future and the device may launch in the US and Europe at a later date.
